Art has the power to connect us on a deeper level, fostering understanding and empathy among individuals. Through community projects, Me, You & Us has used art as a social practice, as a transformative tool for spiritual growth, as a medium for community engagement. Through creative expression, we aim to inspire introspection, stimulate meaningful conversations, that resonate with our deeper connection.
Since 2017, through community art projects, Me, You, & Us has built creative bridges in various communities. This project was initially started in collaboration with my dear friend Susan Bressette of Golden Eagle Elders Lodge in Kettle & Stony Point. Susan and I want to create a community of compassion for First Nations People and "all our relations," including all nations, for the future of our grandchildren.
Me, You and Us harnesses the healing power of art to create bridges allowing a path to sincere connections. Since 2017, Me, You and Us has utilized creative expression on many different paths to create communities of compassion: workshops, spirit portraits, gatherings, art exhibits, presentations, poetry reading, drumming events, sharing stories and listening. Many of these initiatives have been respectfully requested, led and inspired by First Nations Peoples.
